Bela Canhoto launched her entertainment career at International Media Conglomerate Chum Television/CityTV/MuchMusic where she worked as a field and segment producer for a number of series including NextTV, FashionTV, MediaTV and BookTV.
With over ten years broadcast experience including interviewing and co-ordinating for red carpets, junkets, on-set visits and magazine style interviews, Bela has provided field production for programs such as E! News Weekend, Entertainment Tonight Canada, StarTV Hong Kong and Comcast's ARC - The A&R Channel.
In 2001, Bela created, executive produced and sold the television series “Career Moves” which profiled young Canadian Entrepreneurs in various industries (such as Food & Dining) and was distributed by CLT - Canadian Learning Television. She has also produced and organized productions in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, London, Berlin, Toronto, Montreal, and throughout Asia and South America.
After moving to Los Angeles from Toronto in 2002, Bela developed and directed the U.S. Media & Artist Relations department for the world renowned music software company, Native Instruments. Bela oversaw media & marketing campaigns and largely expanded Native Instruments’ celebrity artist relations to include: Alicia Keys, Herbie Hancock, Carlos Santana Band, The Neptunes, Linkin Park, Snoop Dogg, Public Enemy, Crystal Method, DJ Shadow, No Doubt, Tool, John Mayer, and Coldplay.
In 2005, Bela established Liga Inc., a boutique production company which develops and produces television content, commercials, music videos, and corporate video productions.
